THE SECOND FISHING SEASON OF 2020 ENDS WITH AN ADVANCE OF 90%

Lima, January 28th, 2021.- Through Ministerial Resolution No. 00025-2021-PRODUCE, the second fishing season 2020 for the anchovy resource, corresponding to the north central zone, has been concluded.

This season began on November 12, 2020, with a fishing quota of 2,780,000 metric tons and finished on January 25, 2021. By the end of the season, the industry reached 89.5% of the established quota and Exalmar caught 86.7% of its quota.

In the second fishing season of 2020, the company obtained the following results:

• Production of 96 thousand MT of fishmeal and 19 thousand MT of fish oil.
• Participation in processing in the industry of 16.3% (14.8% obtained in the second season of the previous year).

In this second fishing season in times of COVID-19, Exalmar maintained all the necessary measures and protocols in terms of health and safety, as well as Support Programs, in order to take care of the well-being of our employees and their families. Likewise, we continued to support our stakeholders and community of independent fishing owners, through information for the protection and care of all their crews, as well as facilities to operate safely.

By the end of the season, a safe operation was carried out, with zero infections during the operation of our fleet and a minimum contagion rate of our plant employees, with a significant reduction compared to the previous season (-74%), thanks to the responsibility and respect to the protocols from our employees.
